listen to the words I say
They're meant for only you
I should've spoke them earlier
These words are long overdue.
Don't interrupt me and please pay attention
Don't shy or look away
Don't get embarrassed or make excuses
For the things I'm about to say.
You've been the best friend I could ever
have
You've always been there by my side
So many things have happened in my life
Comfort and friendship you did provide.
Everyone has their ups and downs
A lot of people go through them alone
But you never let that happen to me
Kindness and love was all you've ever shown.
Why does it take people so very long
To express their feelings openly
Sometimes they wait far too long
And their feelings are never seen.
So that's why I'm telling you now
How much you mean to me
I'm so lucky to have you as my friend
I'm grateful God sent you to me.
