TO RETURN TO READ ANOTHER POEM

Rainbow Girl By Josephine Wall

SOLDIER LOST

I have no reason to scream and shout.
I am here in safety. What’s it all about?
Another soldier killed in another land.
Another countries’ war. Do they understand?

How do you explain to their loved ones at home?
Can you explain they were never alone?
Did they speak your name before they died?
Or was it easier to tell a little white lie?

Their loved one returns. An empty shell!
Perhaps now is the time to let go and yell.
Emotions are crazy; your loved one is near.
With no arms to hold you or wipe away the tears.

You ask God for the answers but silence begins.
War medals means nothing unless you win.
Pray no more soldiers will lose their life.
The dream is to find Peace and end all strife.
