HINTS ON SPIRITUAL UNFOLDMENT

PAST LIFE

I know I've had numerous past lives
Of this I am quite sure
But the good Lord has decided that it was best
To make my memories a blur.

I've had vivid dreams of a past life
And was aware I had a different face
The surroundings were in the time of yore
And I was dressed completely in lace.

There was such beauty in this dream
I wish I could remember it all
But all I get is bits and pieces
For some reason I just can't seem to recall.

I wonder why our memories are erased
And we start each new life with a clean slate
The mistakes we made in our past lives
Would no longer be chalked up to fate.

We would learn the lessons meant for us
And be able to recall the mistakes made
But that doesn't seem to be in God's plan
He's made sure that those memories fade.
