Sitting
in the garden I heard a small voice call to me.
I slowly turned, putting my hand out for him to see.
In such excitement, he came rushing to my side.
"Come on nanna, come with me, we are going for a ride."

He
led me by the hand and helpt me in the car.
My son in law drove us to the hospital, it wasn't very far.
Finally we arrived and my daughter welcomed us.
My grandson making such a noise, causing quite a fuss.

My
grandson led me to the chair, I heard another voice.
A little cry told me, my granddaughter was born, I rejoiced.
The new baby placed in my arms, tears began to fall.
My grandson kept on asking. "What will she be called?"

The
excitement in his face, oh! How I wish I could have seen.
I know he will tell me everything, so I can feel I have been.
You must excuse my sadness for you see I am blind.
So I need to show my feelings, to help me clear my mind.

I
am alright now, my grandson understands me.
He's sitting in the garden, telling me what I need to see.
His little baby sister is also here, close by.
I may not have my sight, but I can touch and hear them,
can't I?
