Each centre lies on the edge of the Etheric Body and acts as a Vortex drawing matter of its own Subtle Quality into a current by a kind of whirling action. The centres Inter-Penetrate; They are not separate but linked to each other, there by creating an Extension of the Theric or Aura.

THE SEVEN MAJOR CHAKRAS

Moving in the same direction as the evolutionary force of the chakra energies, let's look at the seven major chakras in more detail. It is offered as a starting point for your own experience and awareness.
The seven major chakras are located near specific organs in the physical body, more particularly the endocrine glands. They are linked by a central channel, known in Sanskrit as the sushumna. The central channel is concurrent with the spine so that the seven main chakras appear to be embedded by their "stems" very close to major nerve plexuses and certain endocrine glands.

The Base or Root Chakra

Located at the base of the spine. This centre is our link with nature and planet Earth. It deals with all issues of a physical nature - the body, the senses and sensuality, a person's sex, survival, aggression and self-defence.
At a physical level it is linked to the endocrine system through the adrenal glands. Its energies also affect the lower parts of the pelvis, the hips, legs and feet.
The chakra vibrates to the colour red, when in a state of balance. Like all chakra colours,
it is seen with inner vision and is not identical with the colours of the physical spectrum. When seeking to obtain balance in any centre, the colours should be vibrant and without any area of shadow or darkness.

The Sacral Chakra ( Spleen)

Opposite the sacral bones in the spine, between the navel and the base chakra. This chakra deals with all issues of creativity and sexuality ( how we express ourselves sexually). It is the seat of joy and the place where the "inner" child is originally located.
At the physical level, it is linked to the testes in the male and the ovaries in the female. Its energies also affect the uro-genital organs, the womb, the kidneys, the lower digestive organs and the lower back.
When in a state of balance, the sacral chakra vibrates to the colour orange.

The Solar Plexus Chakra

Opposite the solar plexus, where we feel "butterflies in the stomach". Here the mind and personal will find expression. The "lower" emotions based on fear - anxiety, insecurity, jealousy, anger, are generated here also, creating the important link between the mind and the emotions. What we think, whether positive or negative, has a great effect on our feelings and emotions. It is in the solar plexus chakra that negative energies related to thoughts and feelings are processed.
This is the place of the "wounded child", though this child may also be found in the base
or sacral chakras, according to the level of trauma which has prevented its emotional maturity.
At a physical level, the solar plexus chakra is linked to the Islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. Its energies also affect the solar and splenic nerve plexuses, the digestive system, the pancreas, liver, gall bladder, diaphragm ( and so breathing), and middle back.
When in a state of balance, the solar plexus chakra vibrates to the colour yellow. This is a bright golden yellow.

The Heart Chakra

In the centre of the chest. This is the place of the soul, our inner guidance, and the seat of the "higher" emotions based on unconditional love, such as empathy, compassion, true love, friendship, sister and brotherhood. At this level, feeling remains unconditioned by mind. The heart chakra deals with all issues concerned with love and affection, from the time of conception.
At a physical level, it is linked to the thymus gland. Its energies also affect the cardiac and
pulmonary nerve plexuses, the heart, lungs, bronchial tubes, chest, upper back and arms.
When in a state of balance, the heart chakra vibrates to the colour green.

The Throat Chakra

Deals with all forms of communication and expression, whether through language, art, dance, music, and so on. This chakra also deals with the issues of truth and the true expression of the soul.
At a physical level, it is linked to the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Its energies also
affect the pharyngeal nerve plexus, the organs of the throat, the neck, nose, mouth, teeth,
and ears. It is the chakra of the ears, nose and throat.
When in a state of balance, the throat chakra vibrates to the colour sky blue.

The Brow Chakra

In the middle of the forehead ( inside the skull ). The brow chakra is the place of intuition
and soul knowledge. It oversees the activities of the chakras below it. It balances the power of mind and mental reasoning. It deals with the issues of developing and trusting intuition in our life, allowing soul knowledge through and developing and using high
sense perception as a life skill.
At a physical level, it is linked to the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. Its energies also affect the nerves of the head, the brain, eyes and face.
When in a state of balance, the brow chakra vibrates to the colour indigo or royal blue.

The Crown Chakra

On the top of the head. This is the input centre for spiritual energies. It provides a direct link with the Source and deals with all issues of spirituality.
At a physical level, it is linked to the pineal gland ( the light detector ). Its energies also affect the brain and the rest of the body.
When in a state of balance, the crown chakra vibrates to the colour violet.
