In Meditation
I mentioned about The Chakras. Before Meditation and I must stress
that only people who are either Mediums or supervised by a Medium, should
open their chakras to allow themselves to be intuned with their Spirit
Guides. Mediums open their chakras before giving a Church Service
or a Private Reading. Once you have finished whatever you are
doing you then close down your chakras so the Spirit World are not in
touch. Keeping yourself open can attract the wrong Spirits that
is why you must know how to use your chakras. I myself think of
myself like a bud opening up and as it goes round each colour of the
chakra the bud is opening up till it is fully open by the seventh chakra.
And when closing I reverse so as I go through the colours I am closing
back into the bud again.

The
information below is a study guide for anyone currently belonging to
a development class or circle, or who has a particular interest in this
subject. I would like to thank Lissa Young from the Church who
kindly gave me permission to use this booklet written by her, to be
included in my website to share with you. Lissa also wrote on
the Auras which is in my last section. Many thanks Lissa.
THE
CHAKRAS BY LISSA YOUNG.
The word "chakra"
is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning "wheel". If
we were able to see the chakras we would observe a wheel of energy continuously
revolving or rotating. Clairvoyants perceive chakras as colourful
wheels or flowers with a hub in the centre.
There are seven main chakras which begin at the base of the spine and
finish over the top of the head.
Though fixed in the central spinal column they are located on both the
front and back of the body, and work through it.
Each chakra vibrates and rotates at different speeds.
The root or 1st chakra rotates at the slowest speed, the crown or 7th
chakra at the highest. Each chakra is stimulated by its own complimentary
colour, and a range of gemstones for specific uses.
The chakra colours are of the rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green,
blue, indigo and violet.
The size and brightness of the wheels vary with the individual development,
physical condition, energy levels, disease or stress.
If the chakras are not balanced, or if the energies are blocked, the
basic life force will be slowed down. The individual may feel
listless, tired, out of sorts, or depressed.
Not only will physical bodily functions be affected so diseases may
manifest, but the thought processes and the mind may also be affected.
A negative attitude, fear, doubt, etc. may preoccupy the individual.
A constant balance between the chakras promotes
health and a sense of well being.
Most of us react to unpleasant experiences by blocking our feeling and
stopping a great deal of our natural energy flow.
This affects the maturation and development of the chakras. Whenever
a person blocks whatever experience he is having, he in turn blocks
his chakras, which eventually become disfigured.
When the chakras are functioning normally, each will be "open",
spinning clock-wise to metabolise the particular energies needed from
the universal energy field.

CHAKRA
ONE
COMMON NAME:
ROOT/BASE
SANSKRIT: Muladhara (Root Support)
The first and
lowest of the chakras or centres, called Muladhara in Sanskrit is situated
at the base of the spinal column, about midway between the anal orifice
and the genital organs. Four red petals (nadias) emanate from
it. In the centre is a yellow square, which is the earth element.
Within the square appears an inverted triangle that encloses the kundalini
energy. Kundalini energy has been described as "luminous
as lightning, shining in the hollow of this lotus like a chain of brilliant
lights."
This centre holds the basic needs for survival, security and safety.
The root chakra is powerfully related to our contact with Mother Earth,
providing us with the ability to be grounded into the earth plane.
This is also the centre of manifestation.
When you are trying to make things happen in the material world, business
or material possessions, the energy to succeed will come from this chakra.
If this chakra is blocked an individual may feel fearful, anxious, insecure
and frustrated.

with this chakra are: hips, legs, lower back and sexual organs.

SANSKRIT: Svadhisthana (Sweetness, Her Special Abode)
The second centre often
referred to as the belly or ( sacral), is situated two inches below
the navel. It has six vermilion nadias emanating from it.
In the centre lies a white crescent moon, mystically related to the
element of water. It is through this chakra that the Shiva, or
"sun energy," flows. White light is divided into six
colours of the visible spectrum.
This chakra holds the basic needs for sexuality, creativity, intuition
and self- worth.
This chakra is also about friendliness, creativity and emotions.
It governs peoples sense of self-worth, their confidence in their own
creativity, and their ability to relate to others in a open and friendly
way. It's influenced by how emotions were expressed or repressed
in the family during childhood.
Proper balance of this chakra means the ability to flow with emotions
freely and to feel and reach out to others sexually or not. If
this chakra is blocked a person may feel emotionally explosive, manipulative,
obsessed with thoughts of sex or may lack energy.

)
The third centre
is referred to as the Solar Plexus. It is located two inches below
the breast bone in the centre behind the stomach. It can appear
to clairvoyant vision as "the colour of heavy-laden rain clouds."
Ten nadis emanate from this centre, which is related to fire.
The third chakra is the centre of personal power, the place of ego,
of passions, impulses, anger and strength.
It is also the centre for astral travel and astrual influences, receptivity
of spirit guides and for psychic development.
When the third chakra is out of balance you may lack confidence, be
confused, worry about what others think, feel that others are controlling
your life, and may be depressed.

HEART
SANSKRIT: Anahata ( Pure Sound of Creation)
The fourth centre, which
embodies the element air is known as the heart chakra, which is located
behind the breast bone in front and on the spine between the shoulder
blades in the back. It has twelve mystic ducts emanating from
it. In the middle of this chakra are two intersecting triangles.
Within these triangles is the core of our individual being, the very
spirit of the divine, which glows "like the steady tapering flame
of a lamp."
This is the centre for love, compassion and spirituality.
This centre directs one's ability to love themselves and others, to
give and to receive love.
This is also the chakra connecting body and mind with spirit.
Almost everyone today has a hard, hurt or broken heart, and it is no
accident that heart disease is the number one killer today. Deep
heart hurts can result in aura obstruction called heart scars.
When these scars are released, they raise a lot of old pain, but free
the heart for healing and new growth.
When this chakra is out of balance you may feel sorry for yourself,
paranoid, indecisive, afraid of letting go, afraid of getting hurt or
unworthy of love.
When this chakra is balanced you may feel compassionate, friendly, empathetic,
desire to nurture others and see the good in everyone.
- Physical problems
associated: heart attack, high blood pressure, insomnia
and difficult in breathing.

connected to this chakra include: heart, lungs,
circulatory system, shoulders and upper back.

CHAKRA
FIVE
COMMON NAME:
THROAT
SANSKRIT: Vissudha ( Purified )
The fifth centre is
located in the V of the collarbone at the neck. It has sixteen
subtle "spokes" of smokey purple, which spread through the
laryngeal and pharyngeal regions at the junction of the spinal column
and the medulla oblongata. Known as "the doorway to the plane
of eternal wisdom," it is described as "the region of either,
circular and white like a full moon."
This is the centre of communication, sound, and expression of creativity
via thought, speech and writing. It controls the consciousness
of psychic hearing and abilities. This chakra is the relay for
telepathic messages as well as the abilities of channeling and transmediumship.
It opens channels of communication with ourselves, others and our Creator.
The possibility for change, transformation and healing are located here.
Many illnesses begin in this area due to " choking" back our
words. When this chakra is out of balance you may want to hold
back, feel timid, be quiet, feel weak, or can't express your thoughts.
When this chakra is balanced you may feel balanced, centered, musically
or artistically inspired, and may be a good speaker.
- Physical problems
associated: hyperthyroid, skin irritations, ear
infections, sore throat, inflammations, and back pain.
- Body parts
connected to this chakra include: throat, neck,
teeth, ears, and thyroid gland.
- COLOUR:
light blue - a cool colour that brings lightness, peace and calm and
helps with sleep.
- GEMSTONES:
Aquamarine, Azurite, and Blue Lace Agate.
- ESSENTIAL OILS:
clove, eucalyptus, jasmine, juniper, mints, myrrh, nutmeg, sage and
sandalwood.

CHAKRA
SIX
COMMON NAMES:
THE BROW/THIRD EYE
SANSKRIT: Ajna (To Perceive, The Qualified
Absolute)
The sixth chakra is
located above the physical eyes on the centre of the forehead.
It is known as the centre of command. It is " beautifully
white like the winter moon", and has two subtle channels or "spokes"
emanating from it.
This is the centre for psychic ability, higher intuition, the energies
of spirit and light. It also assists in the purification of negative
tendencies and in the elimination of selfish attitudes. Through
the power of the sixth chakra, you can receive guidance, channel and
tune into your Higher Self.
When this chakra is not balanced you may feel non-assertive, afraid
of success, or go the opposite way and be egotistical. You may
also have difficulty with imaging and will be missing the energy flow
as well as missing the aspects of the spiritual soul. You may
be more inclined to be logical and more rational in use of these concepts.
When this chakra is balanced and open you are your own master with no
fear of death, and are not attached to material things, may experience
telepathy, astral travel, and past lives.
- Physical problems
associated: headaches, blurred vision, blindness
and eyestrain.
- Body parts
connected to this chakra include: eyes, face,
brain, lymphatic and endocrine system.
- COLOUR:
indigo - helps build a positive outlook and bring inner strength.
- GEMSTONES:
AMETHYST, SODALITE, and LAPIS LAZULI.

sandalwood and spikenard.

CHAKRA
SEVEN
COMMON NAME:
THE CROWN
SANSKRIT: Sahasrara ( Thousandfold, Thousand
Petaled )
The seventh chakra
is located just behind the top of the skull. Above the ajna lies
the "thousand petalled lotus" where the three principal arteries
of the subtle body come together. Here is where the final expression
of kundalini awakening achieves the goal of the union of opposite polarities,
the wedding or Shiva and Shakti; male and female; electric
and magnetic; solar and lunar.
It is the centre of spirituality, enlightenment, dynamic thought and
energy.
It allows for the inward flow of wisdom, and brings the gift of cosmic
consciousness.
This is also the centre of connectedness with God, the place where life
animates the physical body.
The silver cord that connects the aura bodies extends from the crown.
The soul comes into the body through the crown at birth and leaves from
the crown at death.
When this chakra is unbalanced there may be a constant sense of frustration,
no spark of joy, and destructive feelings.
Balanced energy in this chakra may include the ability to open up to
the Divine and total access to the unconscious and subconscious.
- Physical problems
associated: migraine headaches and depression.
- COLOURS:
violet, white, gold - colours of inner power, can bring higher understanding
and calm.
- GEMSTONES:
Clear Quartz Crystal, Oregon Opal and Amethyst.
- ESSENTIAL OILS:
helichrysum, lemon, lotus, orange, rose, sandalwood and yarrow.
