BEAUTIFUL DREAMS

When I go to sleep each night
I get to dream of you
In my dreams you tell me you're mine
In my dreams our love is true.

When morning comes and I open my eyes
It is the break of dawn
I come to my senses and realize
It's a dream and now you're gone.

I wonder how I'll make it through the day
When all I do is cry
I don't want to wake up every morning
And know you've said good-bye.

Are you a figment of my imagination
Are you going to continue to haunt me some more
Are you waiting for me somewhere out there
Or are you a love from a life before?

At least in my dreams I can talk to you
Until daylight comes and takes you away
Then once again I'll wonder if you're real
And if our paths will ever cross someday.
